Walking Waterford

Waterford Greenway - Waterford's newest tourist attraction

The Waterford Greenway is a spectacular 46 km off-road cycling and walking trail along an old railway line from the quays of Ireland’s oldest city all the way to Dungarvan. The 23km between Kilmacthomas and Dungarvan is now open for use.
Enjoy a beautiful journey through time and nature across three tall viaducts, through a long atmospheric tunnel, all the way from the river to the sea.

Waterford City Walking Tour

A walking tour of one hour duration, through the regional capital and Ireland’s oldest city, including two cathedrals, four national monuments, and a gallery of rogues and rascals, delivered in a witty, entertaining style, by a master storyteller whose name is Jack Burtchaell.

He wears his scholarship lightly and yet in retrospect, many visitors appreciate that they have just spent an hour with someone very special in a city which has a history to match his telling of it. Jack is the 2002 national winner of the Irish Touring Guide Award.

Jack's walk operate from mid-March to mid-October, 7 days per week and leave from Waterford Tourist Office daily at 11:45am and 1:45pm.
