Camino Tips

Recommended for adults and children 10 years of age and older who have a core level of fitness. Not suitable for families with young children. As you can see, some of the cycles and walks cover considerable terrain and need to be completed within a timeframe so that everyone can move on to the next stage of the Camino.

***

You do not need to be a regular cyclist but a certain level of fitness is required given the distance and duration of the cycles. Some of the walks too are undulating and uphill, so keep that in mind in making your decision to join us on the Waterford Camino.

***

Cycle helmets are provided and must be worn. The cycling is covered under insurance. Any additional insurance outside of the cycling is at the discretion of each family.

***

On the final day, there is the option of Kayaking or Boat Sailing in Dunmore East. Families could drive out independently of the bus and stay in Dunmore for the day. Kayaking rates approx. €30 per person for 2 hours. Boat Hire €250 for 3 hours and includes fishing rods.
