Entertainment in Waterford

Waterford City is home to a vibrant nightlife scene. The region has numerous pubs and bars as well as a few nightclubs along with some of the finest theatres in the country. The possibilities are endless, from a quiet night out with friends with traditional Irish music and storytelling, or a night out dancing to the early hours.
The hotel offers music every weekend from local musicians and from May to September also offers music on Sunday Nights and a traditional Irish Session on Wednesday Evenings from 8:30pm.
If you just want to relax and enjoy the atmosphere in a pub with character there are a number of excellent pubs scattered around the City which you should check. Ideally located beside Reginald's Tower is The Reg, which offers entertainment 7 nights a week.  Downes on Thomas Street, which was established in 1759 and is still in the same eccentric family for six generations. It is also one of the few remaining houses to bottle its own whiskey. Located down the narrow streets of Waterford City’s historic quarter, The Munster Bar was established as a public house in 1822 and has been in the hands of the Fitzgerald family since 1952. The interior has beautiful oak panelled walls and elegant fireplaces. Other traditional pubs also well worth a visit include Geoffs Bar, The Gingerman, Katty Barrys, Jordans and the Three Shippes which are in the City Centre and within easy walking distance of each other.

There is an excellent choice of night clubs catering to all tastes and interests and conveniently located close by to each other in the John Street Village where the main concentration of night clubs and bars are in the City, these include Kazbar, Crystal nightclub and The Foundary.

The late bars which are also close by and serve until 2.30am are RevolutionThe RegSinnots bar.


The Theatre Royal is a beautifully restored Victorian theatre hidden inside a Georgian building and is both Ireland's oldest theatre with the smallest stage.

Slainte - The Show, Ancient Songs & Stories

Join “The Reg” Restaurant and Bars, within the Historic Viking Triangle Waterford, for a Celebration of Ancient Songs and Stories like no other.

Greyhound Racing at Kilcohan Park, Waterford
